December Chapter Meeting with Dr. David Churchill:

Measuring Learning Initiatives

Event Description

During this session, we will explore the effective measurement of learning and development initiatives. The session will involve presentation and discussion around designing measurement in the needs analysis phase of the initiative. In addition, stakeholder engagement through successful governance will be explored, with a greater understanding of the role stakeholders have in identifying success metrics.

The session will also allow participants to begin to think about their own initiatives from a high-impact learning perspective. In addition, we will examine tools that may be used to identify metrics which satisfy all four of Kirkpatrick's levels of effective measurement, utilizing a scorecard methodology for executive reporting.

Session Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:

    • Identify the levels of governance critical to effective engagement
    • Describe the reciprocal relationship between stakeholder engagement and effective measurement strategies
    • Apply the High Impact Learning Map and Scorecard tools to their own learning initiatives
