Instructional Design/ID SIG In the 2025 Instructional Design Special Interest Group (SIG), we’ll hold ten sessions on key instructional design topics to equip participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to create effective and engaging learning experiences. Through a blend of theoretical insights and hands-on activities, participants will explore key concepts, models, and best practices in instructional design. By the end of the SIG year, participants will be able to design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials that meet the needs of diverse learners. We’ll take a structured approach to covering the essential aspects of instructional design. Each session builds on the previous one, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the field. Sessions begin in February and run through November. Participation is offered virtual and in-person in Nashville and are open to members and non-members who have interest in instructional design - whether you’re actively working in the field, interested in joining the field, or just wanting to learn more about it. The full program outline is available here. Visit the Event Calendar to register for upcoming sessions. Organization Development/OD SIG Organizational Development (OD) is the study and implementation of organizational change processes. Join two leaders in the OD field for this Special Interest Group (SIG) discussion on OD related topics. Each bi-monthly meeting will have a specialized topic for discussion, workshop, or guest speaker. Virtual sessions begin on January 30 and run five times throughout 2025. The OD SIG group is open to ATD members and non-members: Practitioners in OD and related fields, both internal and external; folks interested in joining the field, and anyone else who is interested in learning about the OD field. Training Consulting/TC SIG The TC SIG is designed for independent training professionals seeking a community of peers who understand the joys and challenges of freelance and contract work. While the primary focus is on external consultants, internal consultants are welcome to attend and share their perspectives. Each monthly in-person session will be a highly customized, engaging experience where participants can: Share successes, challenges, and lessons learned, exchange marketing and sales strategies, discuss networking opportunities and personal goals, and build a supportive network in a safe, collaborative environment.
