Event Description

Is your organization on the path of becoming a learning organization? Join our panel for a dynamic and interactive session focused on integrating change into an organization’s culture, with the context of becoming a learning organization.  The presentation will highlight key change management methods and share specific examples and outcomes. Participants can expect to learn about the art of applying change management strategies and metrics to achieve intended organizational results.

About The Panelists


Dayle A. Savage, EdD is Assistant Professor of the Practice of Leadership and Organizations at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Serving the college since 2005, she studies organizational change, leadership development, and career transitions. In July 2008 she left VU to become VP of HR and Chief Learning Officer for Saint Thomas Health where she fostered collaboration between recruitment, clinical education, and talent/performance management. She returned to her current role at Vanderbilt in August 2009. In her private consulting practice she has worked with all types of organizations from Fortune 500 companies to small family-owned businesses to help answer questions around talent pipeline, talent management, and talent development as they relate to the organization’s optimal performance.  


Steve Little is a business professional with over thirty years of experience in executive management, consulting, and academics. His experience spans several industries, but the last few years have focused on healthcare. Steve’s business experience ranges from technical responsibilities such as operations research, business analysis, and systems development to senior management responsibilities as CEO and board director. As a professor at Lipscomb University, he specialized in Policy and Strategy, Management, Business Statistics, and Management Science. Steve also led international business study courses in China. Steve serves as the principal consultant of the InfoWorks Strategic Solutions Group. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and masters and doctorate degrees in Business Administration. The centerpiece of Steve’s career was with Ingram Industries. Steve joined the Ingram Distribution Group in 1986, when total revenues were approximately $250 million. Steve left in 2002, with those same companies generating annual revenues of nearly $30 billion. During these 16 years, change was the rule, not the exception.


Sammye Woods is Director of Transformation Management, Communication and Facilitation at Parallon.  In this role she collaborates with work teams and change agents in delivering new processes and technology successfully through transformation management methods. Sammye has practiced organizational optimization in a variety of business and government settings; previous roles include Producer at Little Planet Learning, Inc.; Executive Director of the Transportation Licensing Commission, Nashville; and senior staff leadership roles at the Central Intelligence Agency.
