OD Diagnosis, Part 2: Analysis
Virtual Organization Development SIG

We know that in most OD engagements, the problem(s) that we analyze are more complex and multi-pronged than they initially appear. That means that identifying questions to be answered, the data and data sources that will help us answer those questions, and the methods that we will use to gather that data are critical tasks that we worked on in our last session. Please note: the PowerPoint from the previous session is available by request from Deb Tobey. This PowerPoint and all August 16 session materials will also be available for download during the session.

In this session, we will examine the thought processes that are critical for accurate analysis, and then explore how these processes are transformed into OD practices. Our guest speaker is Matt Dolson, PMP, M.Ed., human capital manager at Deloitte. He is a well-known and experienced consultant and practitioner in organizational change, leadership development, and talent management. Matt is a certified Project Management Professional, a credentialed Prosci® Experienced Practitioner, and a Master Facilitator. He will also be with us at our September SIG session as well, as we transition into selection and design of interventions.

Your OD-SIG host is Deb Tobey, Ed.D:

Deb has been a practitioner/educator for over 20 years in the fields of human performance improvement, workplace learning and development, organization development/organizational change, and consultation skills. She has been fortunate in her career to “practice what she teaches and teach what she practices.” As a practitioner, she has managed her OD consulting practice for 20 years and worked as Director of OD/Talent Management in two financial organizations and the State of Tennessee. She served for 10 years as an adjunct faculty member at Vanderbilt University and George Washington University, teaching courses in her practices to masters-level working professionals. She also taught in a full-time faculty role for 8 years in the professional Leadership & Organizational Performance program at Vanderbilt University. Deb has authored/co-authored three books in our field.
