Leadership may be defined as the act of influencing others toward desired behavior and the pursuit of a common goal. Leadership development is a lifelong process. Any leader with a growth mindset may be considered an emerging leader. Our success as leaders as defined by both traits (self direction, learning agility, communication skills) and developmental states (willingness to collaborate, results focus, etc.) The Emerging Leader SIG is an opportunity for leaders of any age (from college interns to retirees) to develop their leadership skills by working with others to support the ATD Nashville chapter.
